How To Draw A Mom
We will draw a mom enjoying a bubble bath, a mom driving, and a mom with different expressions such as happy, surprised, and upset.
We'll also draw a little boy and girl, and things like flowers, toys, and breakfast.
After the drawing activity, we'll make a story out of it.
Follow along with how to draw a mom in the YouTube video below.
Materials
- 1 White sheet of paper
- Pencil
- Colored Pencil
- Pen
- Eraser
Instructions
Step 1. Look at the list of sight words.
Step 2. Draw these basic shapes: a circle, a square, a triangle, a rectangle, a straight line, and a curved line.
Step 3. Draw the sight words.
a. Mommy with different expressions.
- First, draw a circle for the face.
- Next, draw a short hair for mommy. Draw curved lines on the top and a rectangle- ish shape on the left and right sides of the head (you can draw the hairstyle you want for mommy, of course).
- Draw two dots for the eyes, then draw a smile to show a happy mommy.
- Draw big, round eyes, with eyebrows going to the side and an 'O'-shaped mouth to show a surprised mommy.
- Draw straight eyes with downward eyebrows and the sides of the mouth pointing down to show an upset mommy.
- Draw big, round eyes with straight eyebrows and a downward, open mouth with gritting teeth to show an angry mommy. You can also draw random doodles on top of the head to add the 'angry' effect.
b. Mommy enjoying a bubble bath!
- Draw a rectangle
. - Make the sides rounder, then draw the two stands at the bottom.
- On the right side of the tub, draw a long, narrow rectangle that curves at the top. Draw an oval for the showerhead.
- Draw small circles and wavy lines for the bubbles.
- Draw mommy happily bathing in the tub!
- Draw line patterns for the tiles in the bathroom.
c. Mommy driving.
In our previous blog, we already taught you on how to draw a car . Here's an overview.
- D raw a rectangle in the middle and two triangles on the side.
- Draw a smaller rectangle with two triangles on the sides on top of the first.
- Draw the wheels and details.
- Draw mommy on the driver's seat and you in the backseat!
d. Little boy and little girl!
- Let's draw a little boy on the left and a little girl on the right. First, draw a circle for their heads. Then, draw rectangles for their arms and legs and circles for their hands and feet. You can also add finger details using tiny ovals, just like in the picture.
- Draw the hair. Be imaginative and try different hairstyles you like. You can draw the hair of your girl a little longer, or you can add a ponytail.
- Let's draw their happy faces.
e. Toys that make a room look messy.
Little ones love toys. Let's draw different toys scattered around like toy trains, building blocks, toy duck, and so much more.
You can be as creative as possible and think of other toys that you like.
f. Flowers in a vase.

g. Yummy breakfast.
One thing that all moms never forget – prepare a healthy, yummy breakfast for you! Here's how to draw one.
- Draw a circle for the plate.
- Let's draw a sunny-side-up. Draw a circle for the yolk and a wavy circle around for the egg white.
- Draw stacked ovals for the pancakes, then add a small rectangle- ish shape on top of the butter.
- Draw two rectangular strips of bacon, then add line patterns inside.
- Draw an apple and an orange.
Wow! You've done a lot of drawings today, and I hope you've had a great time. Now, you can make different drawings for your mom and share a happy story along with it.
Here's a sample story out of the drawings:
Kids love playing with toys, which means everything is all over the place, making the room messy . If you don't clean up your toys, your mom will be upset and angry . To make her happy , surprise her with flowers, prepare breakfast for her, and let her enjoy a moment of calmness while having a bubble bath !

Step 4. Add an ear and the hair
Draw a curved line on the left side of the head for the ear. Since our baseball player is side view, we cannot see the other ear.
Draw straight lines for the hair outline, then shade the inside.
